The main charm of La Paloma are its beaches, each one with a defined personality, from the very calm ones, to the ones with the highest waves. The little kids will enjoy El Cabito and the older people will go to beaches like Bahia Grande (accessible beach), Los Botes or La Balconada. In the latter, located to the right of the lighthouse, the visitors congregate to contemplate the sunset and applaud it, a tradition observed without fail by the frequent holiday makers.
Located in Cabo Santa María, it has an overseas port and a fishing port, so, for those who love fishing, it is an ideal place. In the center of La Paloma are restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, real estate, ice cream shops, tourist information, bank and a meeting and events center located in the Cultural Center.
Throughout the year, conditions for surfing are presented in this area, and in the months of winter and spring, specimens of Southern Right whales near the coast are also observed.
Whether on beaches, rocks or docks, the professional or amateur fisherman can see why La Paloma is the fifth largest fishing center in the world. At sunset, you can witness the arrival of artisanal fishermen, bringing in their nets black croakers, flounders, white breams and small sharks, which means that visitors usually stay on the beaches until after sunset to enjoy the maximum of all its attractions.
