A new trail in the surroundings of the Protected Landscape Laguna de Rocha invites you to discover and learn more about this fascinating place.
How to get there?
Those who visit this Protected Area of Uruguay, entering through the intersection of routes 10 and 15, in the area known as "Rincon de la Laguna" can enjoy a spectacular self-guided walk along a trail of 2.8 km.
To discover and know
The tour invites us to contemplate, from its beginning, the great mirror of water; make a stop at the bird observatory, highlighting that there more than 220 species live.
Continuing with the walk you reach the sand bar that separates the lagoon from the Atlantic Ocean, where informative posters explain the dynamics of this particular system of sandy bars and their phases. Specifically, the area of the bar and its proximity to the ocean is the most important of this ecosystem.
The trail ends in the dune zone, an ideal point for observing the southern right whales that visit the Rochenses coasts from July to October.

The first stage of the trail can be accessible with wheelchairs, then it continues through the sand.
